Apps 4 America

Congressional App Challenge 4-time winners, Casie and Katelyn Dale, start Apps 4 America to help launch their winning applications into the real world.

Community Funding for Apps 4 America

Apps 4 America is a new venture business in Spearfish, SD and its purpose is to develop and launch Katelyn and Casie Dale's four winning Congressional App Challenge (CAC) entires in the real world, starting with Bill List Discrepancy Locator, their first win.

Investing in this new local venture will:

  • Provide Knowledge of city spending
  • Support local student internships
  • Give Free access to the app

In order to get this app ready for a real world launch we need funding so we are reaching back out to the community for support. Our goal is $5,000. Katelyn and Casie will work as paid interns through Apps For America (A4A) to bring the project up to date while they attend BHSU in the fall semester. (Click here to see the budget)

Apps 4 America Mission

A4A is determined to...

  • Provide useful and safe technology
  • Bring Transparency and Accountability to government
  • Protect citizens and their property

Apps 4 America will further develop and launch in the real world Katelyn and Casie Dale's four winning Congressional App Challenge entires; Bill List Discrepancy Locator, Lighthouse - A Literary Guide, Siren Shield - Wirelessly Activated Protection, RAWR - Realized Accumulated Wireless Radiation. They are looking forward to doing the finish work to get these apps launched for our community.

First App to Launch: Bill List Discrepancy Locator

Katelyn and Casie coded and entered Bill List Discrepancy Locator in the Congressional App Challenge in 2021, the app looks at the city's bill lists and adds up the totals then compares that to the city-reported total for that bill list, looking for any discrepancies. If it finds a discrepancy it will display it along with info such as how much the discrepancy was, and which bill list it was found in.

The app however was built almost four years ago and is very out of date. They’ll continue to develop the software and user interface and keep it updated through December 2025. When the application is completed and launched it will be provided completely for free.
